On 25 November 2015, version 1.0 of the technical specifications for the eID interoperability architecture was published by the European Commission, along with a sample implementation. These technical specifications will provide further details on the technical requirements laid down in the eIDAS Regulation related Implementing act on Interoperability framework, adopted in September 2015.

Cyberkriminelle hatten die von ihnen gestohlenen Identitäten veröffentlich und so für mögliche weitere illegale Handlungen zugänglich gemacht.
Mit dem "Identity Leak Checker" des Instituts kann jeder überprüfen, ob seine persönlichen Identitätsdaten betroffen sind. Wer auf https://sec.hpi.de/ilc seine E-Mailadresse eingibt, erfährt nach einem Abgleich sofort, ob diese in Verbindung mit anderen persönlichen Daten (z.B. Passwörtern oder Kontonummern) offengelegt wurde und so missbraucht werden könnte. "Wir können solche Abgleiche mittlerweile mit mehr als 215 Millionen erfasster Daten aus so genannten Identity Leaks durchführen", sagte HPI-Direktor Prof. Christoph Meinel.

Technical body EMVCo has released official figures which demonstrate that one in three of all card-present transactions undertaken globally between July 2014 and June 2015 used EMV® chip technology.
Europe Zone 1 is close to full market EMV chip deployment with 97% of all card-based payments using EMV technology. This is followed by Latin America at 87%, and Africa and the Middle East at 84% of payment transactions EMV chip-enabled.
