Gemalto supports Cathay United Bank, a leading bank in Taiwan, in securing its online banking services. Gemalto's Ezio Mobile suite enables CUB's customers to securely access their bank's services from their PCs, tablets, and smartphones, using their mobiles as authentication device. As a result, CUB is able to offer an enhanced user experience to its customers, save costs, and meet a new government regulation requiring Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). Gemalto will also provide support and maintenance services for smooth deployment of the solution.
FIME is pleased to announce that its Japanese laboratory has achieved AMEX Enabled accreditation* for functional testing on contactless payment terminal kernels, in line with American Express’ Expresspay specifications. FIME has also been accredited by EMVCo for EMVCo’s Book C-4 specification, which defines the mandatory and optional functionality required when implementing terminal kernel 4. These latest accreditations enable contactless payment terminal and mobile point of sale (mPOS) manufacturers, as well as kernel developers, to validate their products in any of FIME’s French, Japanese and Taiwanese laboratories.
PayPal and Mastercard announced an important expansion of their long-standing partnership that will enhance the consumer experience by making Mastercard a clear payment option within PayPal, enable Masterpass as a payment option for Braintree merchants and expand PayPal’s presence at the point of sale. This will provide increased value to Mastercard cardholders, financial institutions and PayPal customers.
Under the expanded partnership, consumers and small businesses will be able to instantly cash out funds held in their PayPal accounts to a Mastercard debit card. PayPal will also be provided certain financial volume incentives and, as a result of the commitments made under this agreement, will no longer be subject to the digital wallet operator fee.

Danish local and regional banks launch mobile wallet powered by Nets’ new HCE and tokenisation platform
Nordic digital payments specialist, Nets, has been selected by Danish banking collective, the BOKIS partnership, to launch a new NFC mobile wallet solution powered by its HCE and tokenisation platform.
The BOKIS partnership includes 62 banks that form the small to mid-sized banks segment of the Association of Local Banks, Savings Banks and Cooperative Banks in Denmark, together with five Danish regional banks: Jyske Bank, Sydbank, Spar Nord Bank, Arbejdernes Landsbank and Nykredit Bank.
The BOKIS mobile wallet solution will be available to all customers of participating banks, which collectively represent a significant proportion of Danish cardholders.
Gemalto is supplying Meetic Group, European leader of dating services, with its Netsize direct operator billing solution. The 20 million mobile subscribers of Numericable-SFR, France's leading cable and telecoms provider are now able to pay for subscriptions and services quickly and easily via their regular phone bill. This service can ultimately be extended to other mobile operators and European countries served by Meetic Group.

Gemalto has provided a secure element based applet for smart wearables launched by China UnionPay Co. (CUP), a major payment association with total transactions reaching USD 1.9 trillion in the first quarter of 2015. Smart wearable devices are gaining popularity globally, with total shipments expected to surpass 200 million in 2019 . CUP had launched smart wearables with embedded secure elements based payment applications last year. The payment applet runs on the secure element, to provide online and offline payment capabilities on wearables. This will eliminate the need for different card vendors to develop their own versions, simplifying deployment of payment applications on a wide range of secure elements and vastly improving time to market, for a new era of innovative wearables.
