Oberthur Technologies, one of the world’s largest providers of security and identification solutions and services based on smart card technologies, has appointed Pierre Barrial as President of Latin America based in the company's regional offices in Sao Paulo (Brazil). In addition to this new role, Pierre Barrial will also be directly responsible for Oberthur Technologies’ Payment business in the region.
SIMalliance, the global, non-profit industry association which simplifies secure element (SE) implementation to drive the creation, deployment and management of secure mobile services, has announced its Board of Directors for the next twelve months, following annual elections for two of the six Board seats.
The four permanent SIMalliance Board seats, retained by the founding SIMalliance member organisations, will continue to be served by:

The Board of Directors of First Data Corporation, a global leader in electronic commerce and payment processing, announced that Frank Bisignano has been named chief executive officer (CEO), effective April 29, 2013. He will also join the First Data board of directors concurrent with his appointment.

At the 60th General Assembly of ETSI, held in November 2012 in Mandelieu, France, the members of ETSI have decided to re-appoint Mr Dirk Weiler of Nokia Siemens Networks as chairman of the ETSI General Assembly for a second term of office until November 2014. At the same time, the two outgoing vice-chairmen of the General Assembly, Mr Kari Marttinen of TeliaSonera and Mr Klaus Tillmann of NORMAPME, have also had their positions renewed for the same period.
GlobalPlatform, the organization which standardizes the management of applications on secure chip technology, has announced its Board of Directors for fiscal year 2013, following annual elections for six of the eleven Board seats. Individual members to serve as Board Officers for a one-year term have also been confirmed, as well as the appointment of a new Mobile Task Force Chair and Strategic Director.
STMicroelectronics, a global semiconductor leader serving customers across the spectrum of electronics applications, announced Georges Penalver has been appointed Executive Vice President, Member of the Corporate Strategic Committee, Corporate Strategy Officer.
