OSPT™ Alliance, the international association which provides an open standard for secure transit fare collection solutions, has welcomed Setransp, a union of public transport operators based in the Brazilian city of Goiania, as an Associate Member. Setransp is responsible for transit fare collection for the city’s network service known as the Rede Metropolitana de Transporte Coletivo (RMTC). Its pioneering Sitpass automated fare collection (AFC) system has been in operation since 1998 and is now active in 1,400 buses across the region and has 1.1 million users.
Four founding member companies announced the formation of the Open Mobile Ticketing Alliance, a one-of-a kind effort to develop global standards that would allow people to buy public transit tickets from a single app on their mobile devices in cities worldwide. The aim of the Open Mobile Ticketing Alliance is to enable the vision of ‘Register once, travel anywhere’ by developing open, interoperable standards with payment vendors and transit operators.
Gemalto is supplying wristbands embedded with its Optelio Contactless Chip for NFC transport in Wuhan, China. The capital of Hubei province, Wuhan is one of the most populous city in central China with a population of over 11 million. For this pilot, Gemalto will preload these wristbands with the transit application, allowing users to ride buses and metro with a simple wave of their hand. It will also integrate a fitness tracker, enabling consumers to keep an eye on their day-to-day activities such as steps taken, distance covered, and sleep pattern. Consumers can perform balance check and account top-up through a smartphone application.

Im Frühjahr 2015 wurden rund 250.000 VVS-Abokunden über die Umstellung ihrer bestehenden Abonnements auf das eTicket und die zusätzlichen Möglichkeiten der Chipkarte informiert.
Gemalto, at leading company in digital security, has deployed a Netsize SMS ticketing solution together with Milan's public transport company, ATM (Milan), enabling commuters to purchase and use their tickets via their mobile phone. ATM carries around 700 million passengers a year, and now benefits from a highly efficient sales channel that is available 24/7 via any type of mobile phone. This service is available to subscribers of the four major Italian mobile network operators.
OSPT™ Alliance, an international association which provides an open standard for secure transit fare collection solutions, has welcomed automated fare collection (AFC) system operator, Prokart as an Associate Member. Prokart, based in the Russian city of Perm, launched its AFC system ‘Odin Bilet’ or ’One Ticket’, in 2014. The project currently features 600 public transport vehicles and serves 150,000 passengers daily. With ambitions to increase the scope of the ‘Odin Bilet’ project to cover the entire public transport infrastructure in Perm, Prokart has identified the CIPURSE™ open standard, which offers an advanced foundation for establishing interoperable fare collection systems, as the next step in achieving its short and long-terms goals. Through integrating CIPURSE into its ‘Odin Bilet’ solution, Prokart will provide passengers and transport operators in Perm with a sustainable and interoperable solution for all transportation tickets across the region.
